I discovered Vivian Maier's work while seeking in a library.
I have been seduced right away by her photographies and by the story of how they have been discovered.
This woman has been taking approximatively 120 000 pictures and didn't have the chance to see most of it because she never had the money to develop the negatives.
Her work will be really discovered only after her death.
In 2007, John Maloof, young 25 years old men, looking for Portage Park pictures (a district of Chicago) bought 30 000 of her negatives on an auction house.
Instead of Portage Park pictures, he will discover the delicate work of Vivian Maier without knowing her name yet. He'll find out the identity of the old woman only a few month after her death and will decide to show her work to the world, which will be a huge success.

Pourquoi San Francisco ?

"If you're alive, you can't be bored in San Francisco. If you're not alive, San Francisco will bring you to life." William Saroyan

"If you're alive, you can't be bored in San Francisco. If you're not alive, San Francisco will bring you to life." William Saroyan

I want to start my article by this quote because it really reflects my crush for this city.
Since i am here, i've been through a lot of different emotions (yes, being an immigrate is not easy) but i've noticed this extraordinary thing, that for me not a lot of cities i've been to before offers, it's this positive magnetism.
There is always something positive that comes to you here, even in those moments where you're not really expecting something anymore from this city, boom, it happens.
I went out by myself tonight, with kind of a melancholic soul, i had to push myself.
And just in a few hours, i met Sergio randomly, at a corner of a street. He is a Spanish artist. We shared a few piano pieces in the shop where he works and he made me discover his work.
Then Ryan, a Charleston teacher that made me discover the 9:20 special and is going to trade with me some dance lessons for French cooking lessons. Maurice, an Irish guy and his friend from Chicago. We got to share our impressions of the city.
In four hours, i went from low to enthusiastic. Simple meetings, without pretensions, but full of something consistent. This place of the earth is full of possibilities as well as passionate and interesting people. There is so much to see, to learn and to exchange.
I am not surprise that all these amazing companies are here.

Someone told me tonight : "you've spend nine month in the city, the time of a baby', well yes, exactly, now i love this city like its my baby, i want to take care of it and it gives me a lot in exchange, like tonight but also like so many times during the past few month, and in so many different ways .
I have to admit that it's not always easy and sometimes i am very low, but the positive and creative energy around here always brings me back to happiness and makes me remember why i want to give the best of myself to get to live in San Francisco.
